Yeung - Back on his feet and off to school next week
You may recall the sad story about Yeung, the poor dog that had lived with fight wounds for a year and although welcomed at the Government school, his smell was not.
Back in early August we blow darted Yeung and eventually managed to get him treatment for the injuries. Old flesh was being actively eaten by wildlife and he was in an awful state, reminiscent of a bad hair day for a mud wrestler.
At the shelter, he has been receiving appropriate medications daily, 2 meals a day and plenty of socialisation with both volunteers and other dogs. After his head dressing was removed along with lots of cuddles and tummy rubs, his coat has started to return and above all, his eyes are a lot brighter.
The main wound, the remains of his foot, has responded extremely well to the treatment and he now has a new front pad and what could be called a new toe as well. Although the foot has been bandaged, he is always eager to walk and run around on all 4 now.
We think he is now ready for his journey back to school and we are lining him up for a new start in the corridors of education. We only hope the other folks at the school recognise Yeung as their old school mate and not a newbie!
We will write a little more about Yeung after his return home.
