We need a Veterinarian (DVM)
We have set up a new office and vet facility at our shelter and are now looking for a pro-active, experienced, and motivated
Veterinarian (DVM)
who will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Providing medical care for the various rescue cases we get (assessment, treatment plan, follow-up etc.)
- Deciding whether a dog/cat needs to be checked at another clinic (e.g. for x-ray or ultrasound)
- Performing sterilizations (further op’s, e.g. accident surgery or tumors, depending on experience)
- Treating TVT-cases
- Arranging and supervising medical care (tablets, injections, wound dressings, IV drips etc.)
- Providing medical coaching for dog caretakers
- Arranging, recording and supervising preventative health care (vaccinations, deworming, spot on, heartworm prevention)
- Purchase of medicine and vaccinations
- Updating medical records
- Checking recovery of sick and/or injured dogs
As we have to deal with a variety of severe medical conditions, a candidate needs to fulfill the following requirements:
- Possess a DVM license
- Min. 2 years experience
- “Hands on” personality
- Team player with good communication skills
- Good knowledge of English
- Motivated to give his/her best for the care of dogs and cats
