Update on the Head Rock Dogs – Hua Hin
Just to recap, due to the local authorities in Hua Hin Thailand pressuring Head Rock Dogs to close their dog rescue shelter facilities down, they are desperately struggling to find homes for 60 dogs. In the last couple of months, they have reduced these numbers from over 100.
Head Rock Dogs are doing all they can to meet the imposed deadline of the end of September 2008, to find homes for the 60 remaining dogs in their shelter and are making appeals to all their contacts to help them in any way they can.
Care for Dogs will be taking in 6 and this morning we learn that despite there being a generous offer of transportation from Bangkok to Chiang Mai next month, made yesterday to visitors at the Care for Dogs shelter, Head Rock Dogs are unable to wait that long, as they say that will be too late.
The Head Rock Dogs team have indeed been working hard and making plea’s far and wide. It is now hoped that they will be in a position to fly the 6 dogs to Chiang Mai, courtesy of a generous donation made to them for this purpose.
There is hope for these 6!
Can you, the readers of this story help them in any way?

FINAL APPEAL FROM HEADROCK DOGS
Regular Friends in Need readers will undoubtedly have seen our appeal to adopt one of our dogs as we will soon be closing. We thought we had at least a six-month period of grace time. We thought wrong. A telephone call from Hua Hin’s Municipal office told us they will start taking down our unused pens tomorrow. By the time you read this appeal, they will be history. This week they will start taking our dogs and dismantling all other pens. If we are lucky we may have our dogs until the end of the month, but that is uncertain. We will not be allowed to care for our dogs once they are inside the Municipal. Pound. We will not be able to give any vaccines to protect them against the numerous infections, parasites and viruses which are undoubtedly in that pound. It will be a dog’s nightmare.
With hard work over the past year and fantastic support from all over Thailand and US and Canada we have reduced our “family” by over 50 per cent. But we still have 60 beautiful, adoptable dogs who are destined for a life in hell.
If you have seen pictures of any of our dogs you thought you may like to adopt either in Friends in Need or on our web site please don’t delay, please do it now. You will not only be giving a lovely dog a chance of a new life but you will also probably be saving its life.
The situation is dire for our rescued dogs, but our paraplegic dogs and sick street dogs will still be cared for.
We truly hope to hear from all dog lovers in Thailand. Phone Headrock Dogs’ Adoption Manager on 08-9028-3787 or Headrock Dogs’ Manager on 08-1981-4406 or visit our web site at http://www.headrockdogs.org/.
