The Singapore Four – The Energy of Youth at CfD
This week the Care for Dogs shelter has had four special voluntary travellers, who came a long way to help the dogs.
Sumin, Yuiko, Tiffany and Julia are students from Singapore’s UWCSEA School, who have come to the shelter for their class ‘Projects Week’. Sixteen and seventeen-year-old student from the school spend one week volunteering in places such as India, the Philippines, Thailand and beyond
The four girls found Care for Dogs after they decided that they wanted their volunteer work to be geared toward helping animals in need. With due diligence they Googled, watch CfD videos on Youtube, spoke to a former UWCSEA student who had volunteered with us last year, and then contacted the shelter to arrange their visit.
When asked how they were enjoying their time at Care for Dogs so far, each of the girls agreed it was even better than they had expected. When asked if they were taking in any of the other sites around Chiang Mai, they answered with a very mature “We are here to volunteer” on this trip.
As for the obvious question – Which dog is your favorite, on that they only agreed that they all were great, but they each had their own thoughts about a favorite, favorite?
Yuiko – Noi
Tiffany - Cee Cee
Sumin – Too many to say
Julia – Well, Julia selected that iconic dog “Dog whose name this blogger does not know”
Yes, the energy of youth has been contagious around the shelter this week; the brilliant minds of youth were sadly not as contagious.
