Thank you Carrefour - Adoption Fair Success
We are so pleased to announce that the Care for Dogs Adoption Fair held at Carrefour on 31 August was an extremely successful event.
Most importantly, 14 pups / young dogs and 2 kittens found new homes directly from the event and others will follow, due to the wonderful exposure to the Chiang Mai community this location afforded us, making the number of adoptions a record, compared to previous similar events.
T shirts, gift cards, ceramics and other dog orientated gift merchandise, were on sale and when combined with the enormous amount of spontaneous donations made by people visiting our stall, made the funds raised from the day another record too.
As with other events like this, Care for Dogs volunteers are inundated with questions from people who either have dogs and want to know more about behaviour or medical problems, questions regarding what to do in the event of… and discussions about animal welfare issues in our community.
People who already do something for the homeless cats and dogs in their neighbourhood like Brian & Mai, Marissa & Angelo and Eric & Mira, just 6 of the people who came to the Adoption Fair to chat with like minded people and offer Care for Dogs appreciation and congratulations for holding such an event and bringing the information presented to the shoppers at Carrefour.
Our thanks go to the management of Carrefour who kindly provided and facilitated a prime location in which to display the Care for Dogs Adoption Fair, giving us the opportunity to present our selves to the visitors of the centre.
The entire team of Care for Dogs along with extended participation from friends and family worked hard to make this day happen. We are already planning our next event, Nimmanhaeminda Arts & Design Promenade which is scheduled for 5 days in early December. - Watch this space for more info or subscribe to City Life for more information about that event nearer the time.
