I will never forget the first time I visited Care for Dogs: I was overwhelmed not only by the amount of dogs but also by all the different and sad cases the foundation had to deal with. Apart from illnesses and diseases street dogs can catch and develop, it is very upsetting to see what humans are capable of doing.

But luckily Care for Dogs opens its doors and shelters, treats and looks after such dogs. It’s so great to see them recovering and being given that second chance.

I am very happy that I can contribute to the work the foundation does; I love coming to the shelter whenever I get a chance and help out wherever I can. The dogs are great fun and wonderful to be with, they love being given attention and a kind word spoken to them which is really not a lot to spare. Together with my partner Edward who is a full time volunteer at the shelter, I am responsible for the Adoption PR aiming towards many lovely dogs finding a new and caring home.

I enjoy this work immensely as I get to know the dogs and their stories and follow their steps towards a permanent home. Having adopted two furry friends from the shelter myself, there cannot be a more rewarding feeling than to open your home to a dog that had known little more than living on the streets and not being given any care and love.

To all those who are consider getting a dog, I can only say: Come to our shelter and have a look at the wonderful dogs we have, you will for sure find that perfect companion that you are looking for.
