Amandine Lecesne

AmandineI’m always up for giving belly rubs or receiving hugs from dogs! I lived in Thailand for 8 months but am now studying in San Francisco, California. I’m eager to return back to Thailand as soon as classes are dismissed and go back to the hands-on work I adore.

Personally, I’m interested in helping dogs because I think that they’re often misunderstood. For example, people think that dogs growl because they’re aggressive when it’s clear that in most cases, the dog has been beaten and is now scared and only trying to avoid more abuse. If people could learn to see dogs as companions instead of pests, then more dogs would get hugged and less people would get bitten!

AmandineI’m also interested in spreading knowledge about the dog situation in Thailand. I think that for most Europeans and Americans, the situation in Asia is almost unbelievable. We cannot imagine how someone could take a metal bat and beat a dog to death and eat it. We are compelled to believe that our human brothers could not possibly take a knife to a dog’s throat and not see its value as more than per kiloweight. It is this disbelief, I believe, that puts the brakes on our impact. Maybe by letting others know what is happening, we’ll finally start pushing down on the acceleration and start moving forward in the process of healing.
