India Makes Her Mark

By • Jan 2nd, 2011 • Category: News and Infos

When I first saw little India, a mellow black pup, standing within an ocean of outgoing puppies, each with fabulously ridiculous spots and patches, I wondered how she would ever have a chance to make her mark on people’s hearts.

Sneak Preview – NAP Fair Newbies!

By • Dec 3rd, 2010 • Category: News and Infos

Last week over 20 young dogs arrived at the shelter and most are being prepared for the NAP Fair. Many of the smaller puppies are out of an abandoned house, some are young temple dogs, but all are woefully socialized. Here in photos is a sneak preview of some of the new dogs that we hope to move into forever homes this week.

Airport Plaza – Adoption Fair

By • Jan 9th, 2010 • Category: Events, Lead Stories

New Year in Chiang Mai is a busy time and we could not miss the opportunity of meeting the thousands of shoppers at the city’s busiest shopping mall – Central Airport Plaza.

Many thanks go to the management of the complex for allowing us to hold our 3rd Adoption Fair at the centre and this time instead of being within the busy confines of walkways full of happy shoppers, we were granted permission to set up our stall on the balcony area at one of the main entrances.

But the day was made that much more a success by the happy adoptions of 7 puppies. Ally failed to capture the 7th pup Pauly & his new family but as can be seen from the images above, it was happy smiley faces all round!

*Adam & Eve have now been adopted. Here’s a cute couple for you. This is brother and sister team… Adam & Eve. They are both currently living on the street in Soi 4 of my Moo Baan (housing village) and desperately need a warm and loving home. It would be great to keep them together [...]

A Very Happy Ending!

By • May 30th, 2009 • Category: Already found a home

Andy (photographed with Jojo here ) and Veronika had previously visited Happy Gambol Dog Training and Boarding Facility near Mae Rim, where the proprietors Patrick and Nok had suggested that when visiting the Care for Dogs shelter, they should take time to watch out for the dog that adopted them, a dog that was just naturally drawn to them.. and Jo Jo certainly was.

SiSi & Sandra

By • May 24th, 2009 • Category: Sponsor this dog

This pretty little mother and daughter came to us in a very distressed condition. They arrived with two of SiSi’s 8 week old puppies having been thrown out of their home by an owner who, it appeared, just stopped caring. As with a lot of cases, we very quickly re homed the youngsters but because [...]

Cute Puppy Lucky – Needs a home

By • Jan 22nd, 2009 • Category: Already found a home, Pet Network Chiang Mai

Care for Dogs was contacted recently by a dog loving family who found a little puppy abandoned at a temple they had visited. We find it very difficult to explain to people around the world about the reality of dogs being dumped but even more difficult is the enormous task of finding homes for so [...]

Brrrrr it’s cold

By • Jan 12th, 2009 • Category: Available for Adoption

The 20 youngsters are still huddled much of the time, that’s when they are not eating, playing & poo’ing – Oh don’t start me on that subject!

As you can see they are growing fast and we hope in a couple of weeks time to start warming up Chiang Mai hearts, by holding an Adoption Fair, with a focus on getting as many of these fluffy bundles a new home and a new start to their lives.
Would you like 1? If you take 1… you could get 2 or 3 as a bargain offer.

Gary, Gene and George

By • Dec 18th, 2008 • Category: Already found a home

Hi! We are Gary, Gene and George, sweet, gentle, and active little puppies with plenty of puppy spirit. We were born on the streets of Chiang Mai. Dog catchers had tried to catch my mom, and neighbours had asked the team of Care For Dogs if we could stay at their shelter. We are 8 [...]

Puppy – baby – love

By • Oct 26th, 2008 • Category: Available for Adoption

Pearl is at our shelter now, playing with other puppies who had a similar fate, being dumped, forgotten, neglected.

If you are interested in giving Pearl or one of the other puppies a loving family home, please get in touch with us.

**Update one day later**
Our dog caregiver, Khun Saay, found another puppy in front of the shelter. “Diamond” looks like the sister of Pearl and both are reunited now. We checked the area and couldn’t find another one, hopefully no other puppy was dumped in the area, it would have a hard time of surviving without food.

Rachel Spencer – The Rocket Diaries

By • Oct 8th, 2008 • Category: Shelter

Rocket. Never have I known a dog with so apt a name, the life of any puppy party. A pocket sized parcel of mischief! When we first arrived at Care For Dogs 5 weeks ago, Rocket and her siblings were a mere 5 weeks old, yet already you could spot the live wire in the [...]
