A senseless death – In memory of Bailey

By • Apr 30th, 2010 • Category: Elsewhere

In our work we come across poisoned dogs again and again. Sometimes we can save their lives with the help of our vets, but sometimes it’s too late to help and the dog dies a cruel and senseless death. I always thought how dreadful it must be to lose your dog through such a merciless [...]

Honey found safe & well

By • Jan 29th, 2010 • Category: Lead Stories

After many sleepless nights and half of Chiang Mai out on the streets, morning, noon & night, with every street corner advertising a poster showing Honey, this afternoon following many hoax or mis-identified sightings, Honey was seen crouching not more than 100 meters from where she escaped 7 days ago.

Honey was very scared when Karin eventually saw her, tucked into a leaf filled shelter in the undergrowth and despite knowing Karin was her friend, Honey still made a last desperate attempt to run away.

Thankfully with about 20 people around the area watching her movements, it was easy to follow her into a dress making shop, through the sewing machines & into the materials store and out into a closed in back yard.

At last Karin could get to touch Honey and calm her down. Honey was very pleased to be in the safe arms of Karin and the observant guys who spotted her hiding received their reward.

Amandine at the shelter

By • Nov 30th, 2009 • Category: Lead Stories

This week, Co-Founder of Care for Dogs Amandine Lecesne, returned to Chiang Mai from America and will be staying for the next 4 weeks to join us in & around the shelter.

As you can imagine, we are delighted to have her with us, the knowledge & experience she brings is so valuable and her presence too.

Amandine is not one for standing back, she gets right down to be eye to eye with the dogs. Her compassion and emotion with dogs (and humans by the way) brings us all closer together.

Look @ this Success

If you were there, then you will know how many people came, participated, contributed & enjoyed the entertainment, the company, the delights of the artwork, the food & drink and of course the spectacle of dogs in an art gallery.

Ana sang her heart out & Kens film which he spent many hours capturing at the shelter looked good on the wall. You can view it here … but please make sure you have sound, otherwise it won’t do Ken’s fabulous work justice.

The presentation made by Karin was memorable, wrenching heart strings when explaining the large “Rescue” canvas and outlining some of the work we are involved with.

Big hearted people & very wise dogs

By • Jul 30th, 2007 • Category: Photos and Videos

These scenes are typical from my experience when out on the road with Amandine & Karin, who as you can see pour their hearts out to the dogs they meet and give them so much care. I know there are many folks in the world like these but I have to say how proud I [...]
