Sponsor a dog for Christmas & New Year

By Ally • Dec 19th, 2009 • Category: Lead Stories

Homeless dogs in Chiang Mai, Thailand need help all year round but at this festive time, we ask you to sponsor a dog. You can do this either as a gift for someone you know or by making a donation yourself.

With over 150 homeless and abandoned dogs in our care at any one time, we (and the dogs!) really need your assistance. With your help we can give them a better quality of life and a future but that takes more than compassion, it requires finance and therefore donations!

TvT – Its growing

By Ally • Oct 17th, 2009 • Category: TvT

Care for Dogs has been treating TvT cases for over 3 years. On average we have 10 cases living in our TvT enclosure for their course of treatment, weekly injections with Vincristine administered by a trained veterinarian.

The cost of this treatment is very expensive and although we manage to reduce costs by purchasing bulk supplies of this powerful medicine, the overall cost of treating so many dogs with this condition greatly impacts on our budget but the value is justified, these dogs would otherwise continue to spread their contaminated blood and eventually die through loss of blood, infection and being consumed by an extremely invasive tissue destroying tumor.

They were easy to find taking shelter under the Faculty of Economics building.

In the early morning at 6.00 a.m. the phone was ringing – the display shows “Shelter”.

By Ally • Dec 17th, 2008 • Category: Lead Stories

Today we received a ‘tip off’ that someone had dumped some pups under Rama IX bridge in Chiang Mai. 27 they said!
Not believing the story and hoping that we could persuade someone nearby to care for the pups, we went to the bridge.
Sure enough, I felt like the pied piper everywhere I walked, more [...]
