Calling all animal lovers

By Ally • Dec 19th, 2009 • Category: Wat Nong Pla Mon

We’re looking for volunteers!

If you are reading this notice it must be because of your concern for many of our 4-legged friends! Often times one has the need or want to volunteer in some way, but have limited time, located on the opposite side of Chiang Mai from the Care for Dog shelter, or simply unsure as to what you could do to help.

We are looking for interested, compassionate adults who would like to be part of a new Prem community outreach initiative called “Hand to Paw”. This project is designed to care for the dogs currently living at three temples located in the surrounding area around The Prem International School in Mae Rim.

Look @ this Success

If you were there, then you will know how many people came, participated, contributed & enjoyed the entertainment, the company, the delights of the artwork, the food & drink and of course the spectacle of dogs in an art gallery.

Ana sang her heart out & Kens film which he spent many hours capturing at the shelter looked good on the wall. You can view it here … but please make sure you have sound, otherwise it won’t do Ken’s fabulous work justice.

The presentation made by Karin was memorable, wrenching heart strings when explaining the large “Rescue” canvas and outlining some of the work we are involved with.

This will increase adoptions and we’ve already got some new volunteers. Not to mention the positive outcome these extra funds will have in helping the many dogs and cats in Chiang Mai and help fund our many new projects in the planning. We’re always looking for Thai or English speaking volunteers. If you are interested in joining our team at the Sunday Walking Street Market Booth then please contact me at teresa@carefordogs.org

Fundraising and Campaign!

By Amandine • Dec 2nd, 2008 • Category: Lead Stories

I was offered a booth at Sierra College for their Culture Day (in California, USA) last week in order to put up pamphlets and photos of our doggies plus sell a few items to fundraise for Care For Dogs.
I brought shirts, bumper stickers, and postcards, had flyers made, created a posterboard with pictures, and brought lots and lots of energy and enthusiasm to talk about our doggies !

I had lots of students and teachers come to ask questions and share their own rescue stories (it always makes me happy to meet someone who adopted/rescued their dog!)

I’m glad to say that I was able to raise a bit of money to help the doggies and hope that the pamphlets, stories, and pictures, will set off sparks in people’s minds regarding doggy welfare around the world!
