Shelter Clinic – Dr Tarn the visiting Vet
Owing to the increasing cases of TvT we are currently managing, this weeks Chemotherapy session was held at the Care for Dogs shelter in Hang Dong.
A clinic area was set up to allow Dr Tarn the facilities she needed to administer the therapy and whilst we had her captive within the enclosure, we took full advantage of her veterinarian skills and asked her to assess some of the current conditions of new dogs we have recently taken into the shelter.
Today we had 13 TvT cases needing their weekly injection, with 3 new cases joining the list since last week.
This week, Naad finishes his treatment, Aeb is losing weight so we are slightly worried about her not coping with the treatment and after a smear test next week, we shall know if Daeng will finish her course of treatment too.
And then another dog (a very big black Labrador) came to the shelter with his keeper, as she was concerned about the dogs weight gaining blood coming from his penis. This dog will join the TvT treatment list next week, as Dr Tarn detected he too had tumor nodules at the base of his penis.
Here are a few faces or non bloody photos taken at today’s clinic.
**WARNING** However, if you are seriously interested in this subject and have a strong stomach and are not easily offended by the sight of raw flesh, you can see some examples of this horrific condition here …
