Scarf found and rescued
Today a man contacted Care for Dogs telling us a brief story about a dog living in the road outside his shop.
We visited him a couple of times during the day and on each occasion failed to actually see the dog in question.
The man turned out to be a very caring guy and spent a long time with us taking us around disused buildings, touring the streets on his motorbike and asking everyone and anyone where the small dirty light brown dog was. No one could help us.
Much later in the day, we found him, asleep under a car, we could smell him before we saw him and the ground beneath him was wet from body fluids of all kinds, seeping out of maggot riddled wounds.
Scarf, as we named him after the shop owner’s prime business, will go to the vet in the morning and hopefully we can save his body from being eaten any further by the wild life he currently has attached to him.
There is definitely more to this story than meets the eye, he has a walking harness on him already, he is well known around a large territory and people are fond of him.
Poor guy, we will write more about him, when we know more of his background and his condition soon.
