Rati Lanna Oscar Night
People came to see the recorded video of the 2010 Oscar Award Ceremony show and were met with free cocktails, soft drinks and the opportunity to socialise – all courtesy of a generous group of sponsors we were fortunate to have supporting Care for Dogs.
Any event held at this location, within the beautiful hotel building, with an inviting pool, exquisite terraced bar and garden beside the river Ping, is destined to be memorable but this evenings party was to prove more successful because of the large screen focusing the gaze to share an interesting evening of entertainment.
With tables dressed for a very special occasion, buffet presented in Rati Lanna style and an attendant group of staff, people were able to relax into the ambiance of the night.
Antima Kuttiwung and her acoustic due performed songs from Thai films and Ana Gracey delivered a set of well known film scores.
Following a unique slide show presentation by Karin who thanked everyone for attending, highlighting some of the activities of the organisation, the main feature commenced and it became immediately apparent how much hard work John Richard had put into the compilation of the video, especially as the video was captured from Thai Television which is heavily supported by commercials.
Of course there was a lot of stress and concern during the later evening about who was going to take home what prize, a bit like the Oscars in fact but the auction & raffle gave people an alternative means of making a very much appreciated donation.
The sequence of events throughout the night suited many people and we hope this could be the start of an annual fundraising opportunity for Care for Dogs.
The photos tell more about the people who joined the party.
