**Update – Oreo found a home today – along with Gold to the same home. What a happy couple they must be and we are all very pleased they have at last found life outside the shelter with caring people**

Previously we have written about Oreo, a doggy at the shelter who for no apparent reason started to limp and then occasionally show signs of pain and discomfort.

She was diagnosed with having a luxating patella which in simple terms is where the knee cap slips sideways out of position.

Her condition deteriorated and the poor thing was losing her playful nature and we saw her sitting around, just fed up with her leg.

After many trips to the vet, various discussions between volunteers, vets around the world and researching the internet, we decided to operate on her knee, despite various fears of this being a path we would travel with no return. Without an operation to investigate, no one could be sure, would it be a ligament, or would it be a groove issue.

Thanks to an anonymous sponsor, her knee operation was performed by Purpoon Clinic and a deeper groove was made in the rear of the patella and after a couple of weeks rest & relaxation she was able to move about on it without the previous issue arising.

Today and the main reason for writing this, she was running around the entire shelter area, playing with young & old, making mischief and generally enjoying her life.

Oreo is now just under 2 years old. She has a wonderful nature, gentle, playful, loving and warm. She deserves better than to spend her life at the shelter. She deserves a home where people can enjoy her and she can show them what love she has to give them.
