Nudee Disaster
Disaster is what this really is!
On a personal note, today I was nursing a bad headache after being in full sun for too long yesterday and between family chores, tried to rest and sleep off the effects of mild sun stroke.
To be woken by a nightmare phone call made for a difficult period of time. A horror story unfolded as my feet hit the floor and after a while my brain engaged.
Fred, a resident of Chiang Mai and a dog lover, walked his dogs in Rama IX park this evening and the food vendors told her about Nudee being in a bad way. Apparently yesterday / Friday a woman was driving a car in the car park, talking on the phone and drove straight over the sleeping body of Nudee.
The folks in the park have been offering him food but he was said to be just laying in one spot, in agony and looking very weak.
In a mad dash through the extremely busy Sunday evening traffic, I rushed to the park met fRed and with Kh Toy’s help, lifted Nudee on an old rice sack into the back of my car. He didn’t complain or try to move. He was obviously suffering and despite being very weak, when I rounded a corner a little too fast en route to the hospital, he let me know by crying out.
At Purpoon Clinic, Dr Manachart & Dr Ping looked at his condition, his symptoms and after xray were able to initially diagnose a left and right break to the pelvic but at this time, any other breaks were not apparent. Albeit a little bloody, Nudee’s urine & bladder were responding as they should, so that was good news.
Nudee is currently in the best place, on a drip, receiving jabs for pain, anti inflammatory and antibiotics. The next 24 hours will tell us whether he will make it or not, with his poor health condition, and being so old, he might not be able to pull through. But we shall do all we can.
I say “We”, the bill for this will not be given to Care for Dogs. I have already told the clinic that the treatment will be paid for by me and shared by Nola.
As I get some news I will post it here.
**Update – Nudee was discharged from hospital yesterday and went to live with Nola’s son Jerry in Chiang Mai. Today (Tues) I spoke with Jerry and I am comforted to know that Nudee is eating well, taking it easy without getting anxious about his new surroundings and already receiving visitors.**

Oh, so sorry to hear about Nudee. Poor little fella. At least he now has a more positive and happy ending with a warm, loving home to live!
Thank you so much Ally for coming over and help Nudee. I’ve been sending news to the vendors. They have all been asking about him. How is he doing? Nudee loves steamed chicken with rice mixed with a bit of the juice from the chicken. He certainly is crazy about liver. He always does. He always happily finish his share of food. Please keep us posted. Do you think Jerry would keep him? That would be very nice. I’m sure Nudee would love it.
Hi fRed!
I talked to my son and his wife, Stephanie, a few days ago and he said Nudee was doing better that morning and his hips did not seem to hurt as much. I’ll send him a link to this post and try to have them post an update soon. I can’t thank you enough for letting Ally know so fast, when Nudee was hit.
Take care!
Nola
From Jerry and Stephanie – Nudee is doing much better and waging his tail when we give him his meds. The little Shitzu that sneaks into visit is male, but their are no problems.
