Monday Vet Run
Bit of an update first on the poor doggy Maa Luai, that last week was diagnosed with blood parasites, attacking her blood and suffering a condition called Ascites, where the body fills with fluid.
Sadly she passed away the following day, her poor little heart just couldn’t cope any more.
The other puppy in the photo Jaum Luai sadly also passed away this week. These wretched blood parasites are extremely dangerous. Vaccinations are so important in this climate and unfortunately here are 2 examples of dogs that have had a poor family or no family background at all, no vaccinations as puppies and environments rife with blood sharing, via ticks and blood sucking insects, giving them a short life and for much of it miserable.
On a brighter note, coming along to the vet today was Max, who finally underwent surgery last week for his long standing ear complaint.
Apparently the ear canal had collapsed and the surgery removed the affected area and hopefully promote a healthier ear. Goodness knows how long he had suffered that condition for?
Although there is still some inflammation and a little puss, he is doing ok.
We shall have to keep up the daily cleaning & dressing for a while longer to see how he recovers.
Morg who last week had a full body shave is this week looking positively perky. His open pussy sores and inflamed skin of last week look much better and the major wounds are healing well. His legs are still quite swollen and his blood is still a cause for concern so he isn’t out of the woods just yet.
And very good news, Coke is healing nicely too.
The ‘External Fixation’ has helped the bones in his front leg knit together and although he will need to keep the frame on his leg for approximately another 3 – 4 weeks, he is at last using his leg without pain and there is no sign of any rubbing infections either.
