Maddy and Son Looking for A Home
Last October we were contacted by someone at a Temple in Sarapee to say that a little dog was having trouble giving birth.
We rushed her to the vet clinic where she underwent an emergency cesarean. Four puppies were born but unfortunately 2 died almost immediately. The other 2 seemed healthy enough but Maddy, as she was now called, wasn’t producing much milk so I decided to take her and the 2 pups home to give them some extra care.
For the next 6 weeks Maddy and I shared the feeding and the pups, Louis and Bruno, grew well, and it was a great relief when they finally went onto solid food! No more 3am feeds!
We had planned to return one of the pups, Louis with Maddy to the Temple this week, but then disaster – we were told that several dogs in the area had been poisoned, making it impossible to return them.
So now they are both looking for a home.. together would be great, but separate is great too.
Although Maddy (approx 3 years old) is a Temple dog she took to living at my house in an instant! She just loves home comforts and can be a real lap dog if you let her! And she’s quiet too. She lets me know if someone passes the house but other than that she doesn’t bark.
Consequently Louis doesn’t bark either, so, nice peaceful dogs.. So now to increase their adoption chances and give Louis a chance to socialise with lots more dogs, I have taken them into the shelter.
If you feel that you could offer either or both of them a loving home, please give us a call and arrange to visit them at the shelter where they are waiting to share a lifetime of love with you.
