Life’s Getting Better Every Day!

**Update-Fabulous news, these guys are off to Holland as they have been adopted**

hope-and-freedom

Every day I’m seeing changes with Hope and Freedom and its fantastic to see.

They trust now that food comes on a regular basis several times a day and they have, over the past 4 weeks slowly been returning to being the relaxed chilled out pets that they must have been before they were abandoned 2 years ago.

Yesterday, Hope sat firmly on his haunches for the first time, tail wagging, something he wasn’t strong enough to do before. This morning he shook himself and stayed standing! They both now stretch themselves, yoga style, downward dog, several times a day as if they are making up for all the time when they couldn’t do this simple everyday exercise.

Hope even skips when I bring the food out and after he’s eaten he likes to stand with his head resting in my lap and be stroked. They just love all the attention.

Hope had terrible pressure sore wounds, two have now healed and the third won’t take too much longer, although it still needs dressing daily. The fur that was shaved away is growing back and he loves to be bathed and groomed. His coat, amazingly, is in excellent condition so now that he has some flesh on his bones he is looking very handsome.

freedomFreedom too is looking so beautiful. His coat suffered a little from his poor diet but with regular baths and cod liver oil supplements, he is also returning to how he should be, and as you can see, he’s looking fantastic.

He’s so alert and both of them really love being around people and welcome everyone who call with happy wagging tails.

What they need now to make their lives complete is a loving permanent home where they can relax and feel safe.

They are probably middle aged and so they are calm, never jump up, content to lay around as they are now, both lying at my feet while I write this. They must have been well trained earlier in their lives because Freedom sits and stays, they lie down when told and they stay away from the gate when I’m getting the bike out. They are bright and beautiful and deserve a wonderful home together.

If you think you may want to offer them a home, come and visit and get to know them. Call me direct on 0871 891623

" I feel really fortunate that I am able to spend my days doing something so fulfilling and worthwhile. I enjoy spending my time just loving and cuddling our dogs and taking time to restore their confidence in humans. Some have been through untold traumas or are family pets that have just been abandoned on the streets or in Temples so its wonderful to see them settle into the dog family groups here and get a feeling of security again.
