Dry season- Shade and Water Bowls

On a hot day in dry season life in the shelter has it’s special rhythm. It starts in the morning with the busy part. Volunteers and Staff arrive greeted by the barking doggies, they check their schedule of the upcoming work.

Soon after it’s breakfast time, bowls are distributed to the hungry dogs, though there’s enough for everyone some nasty little quarrelling can happen may be some ear cleaning spot on against the ticks or other things to do.

Hopefully there are some volunteers ready for walks and some lucky ones out of the 150 doggies at the place can have a little sniff outside the gates.

But after this when the sun gets higher the temperature is rising and the shades get shorter, it’s time for some rest around the doggies and if it’s hot enough that’s the moment to look for some special place to hide from the sun or get a little refreshment.

And as you can see even the shady place below the washing stand becomes a perfect place for a resting mother with here puppies.

The water filled tub makes a nice replacement for the missing pond.

And our water bowls get transformed by some to mini pools.

Come and take a look at the doggies at our shelter and don’t forget your camera.

Some thing you’ll see and hear will make you sad but there’s always something that can make you smile. It’s a real interesting place and may be even your long missed but unknown doggie pal is already waiting for you, looking out of the shade below a bank.

" Being part of the team I think, was so much more effective. If alone, I would only have given a street dog some food for few days, not knowing what else to do in a strange town when seeing a sick dog. Joining with the other volunteers at CfD, I was part of a steady approach. You give dogs some hope for a better life and don't have to disappoint them when they might wait on you, when your plane already took off. Here is a team and it's just another friendly face, the next (holiday) volunteer will take up your work. [More about Michael]"
