Anne – From Berlin to Chiang Mai

I came to Chiang Mai in December 2009 and it was my first time in Thailand. I was amazed to see so many street dogs. And because I love dogs very much and had never seen this many street dogs before in my life, I was really overwhelmed and I didn’t really know how to [...]

Grace spends her day with the puppies

This morning a willing volunteer visited the shelter during a stay in Chiang Mai, giving up her time to help out with what ever needed doing.

Passing Away

Though I volunteer with Care For Dogs several months at a time, I work at a veterinary clinic in the US the rest of the time. This story ties in lessons learned from both.
I walk into the room with hesitation. They told me when I started this job that it never gets easier. There’s a [...]

Sunday Market Success

Last Sunday proved that our new booth is a great success with an EXCELLENT result in sales, donations and interest from the public. This will increase adoptions and we’ve already got some new volunteers. Not to mention the positive outcome these extra funds will have in helping the many dogs and cats in Chiang Mai and help fund our many new projects in the planning. We’re always looking for Thai or English speaking volunteers. If you are interested in joining our team at the Sunday Walking Street Market Booth then please contact me at teresa@carefordogs.org

Travellers throughout the world who have had to leave their beloved pets for extended periods are always the first to pat a stray dog or cat in a foreign land. Those lucky enough to be touring Thailand, will know that this country has an abundance of neglected, abused and unloved dogs.
As a tourist myself with [...]

Evan & Marina – Getting up close at the shelter

This morning, like most mornings this last week, Evan & Marina popped in to the shelter to get up close with the residents and give them a cuddle and have a natter.
