Shanika – a Whole New Life

At Care for Dogs we don’t forget about our former residents and as times goes by and if we’re lucky the last memory won’t be a sad one.

Here in the last image of the gallery you can see Shanika on arrival at our shelter almost a year ago. She had been owned by a dentist who had let her go downhill and lost interest – maybe he had once been bought as a status symbol. Neighbours had alerted us and brought her in. Shanika had hair loss, mange, wounds, and was depressed.
