Before….
**Update Already found a home – No surprises there !**
and After!
This story just shows what the right action and a little bit of time can achieve.
This is Alfie, a gorgeous little guy who was found dumped on the side of the road.
Maybe it was because he had hardly a hair left on him, we will never know. But he was picked up and bought to the shelter where he was diagnosed with mange and was promptly given a special bath and put onto daily medication.
Not kidding.. within 2 days his fur started to grow back! And this picture was taken just 3 weeks after he arrived with us. What a difference! That winning smile says it all!
Not only is he beautiful but he is also one of the happiest, friendliest and waggyist dogs I have ever met!
And of course, he is looking to share his love with someone special.. maybe that’s you? And the cost of this amazing recovery?
Typically the cost of this type of treatment for one dog is approximately 1000 baht, which includes food and care at the shelter too. In fact, for Alfie it was about half that because he’s so small and full of youth & vitality, that his fur returned in record time.
So maybe there’s a dog who lives on your Soi or by your condo who, like Alfie is bald or has sore itchy looking patches? A skin test at the vet will determine what the problem is and it’s likely that you could treat the dog yourself out on the street, you just have to give daily liquid medication on a tasty bit of food, it’s a simple as that.
- It is worth bearing in mind that recoveries can take one to two months for older dogs as they may have had the problem for longer than Alfie.
- You can liaise with us to get the dog picked up and taken to the vet and we will supply the medication.
If you are interested in helping dogs in need on the streets or indeed are interested in adopting Alfie, give us a call or drop us a line.
Better still, come and meet us at the shelter, have a chat & see what we do.

Gill " I feel really fortunate that I am able to spend my days doing something so fulfilling and worthwhile. I enjoy spending my time just loving and cuddling our dogs and taking time to restore their confidence in humans. Some have been through untold traumas or are family pets that have just been abandoned on the streets or in Temples so its wonderful to see them settle into the dog family groups here and get a feeling of security again.
