Aragon Adopted and Happy

A letter received from the the new family of Aragon, the beautiful dog adopted from the shelter.

Dear Karin,

Thank you for the lovely card from ‘Care for Dogs’ which we received today. We did not put up a mailbox earlier, so our mail was redirected elsewhere.

Aragon with LoisI attach here a snapshot of my daughter Lois with Aragon, taken on 13 May.

Aragon did well on the long journey to Mae Sai. We had 2 stops for him. He drooled profusely throughout. At our home he did well, but was under the weather on the 3rd day. He ate grass to vomit & cleanse himself. After that, he recovered.

He is now happily settled in, and knows his surroundings within the compound. We brought him on walks outside too.

We discovered he is a small eater. He is a little fussy with dry food (kibbles), so we add meat ingredients to make it more tasty. He is also afraid of lightning / thunder, and loud noises. Once when my truck crushed a small empty carton, making an explosive sound, he was found shivering by my daughter. And thunders would find him hiding under a bench. Quite different from his dominance over other male dogs at the shelter! But he is a part of our family now, and greets us at the gate whenever we return home.

Shalom,
Charles Fong

Karin " It makes me deeply sad to see when dogs that have been cared for, get poisoned, or finding dogs, that were killed to be eaten, or holding dumped sick puppies that die in our arms.[More]"
