The kids at NIS are busy again with another temple project.

spraying-against-ticks-and-fleasThis time, these self-motivated, dog-loving students are going to reach out to the dogs at Wat Baan Tho and the surrounding area.

They arrived in a van on their own time after school, equipped with doggie treats, plastic gloves, flea and tick spray.

More importantly, they also came along with a go-get-‘em attitude that was refreshing to see in teenagers that one might expect to see spending their free time at a mall or playing computer games.

We met them at the temple with syringes and a cooler of vaccinations.

With the guidance of their teacher Ms. Ellisa, the young people identified 4 dogs with mange, 2 dogs with TVT and many more who just needed vaccinations and some extra attention.

The kids got right down to business and began to treat the hounds for fleas and ticks while Ms. Ellisa diligently took down notes on dosages of medicines and descriptions of each dog.

Meanwhile, young Vicky treated the patients with mange and gave them Ivermec injections with confidence and ease.

The 2 dogs with TVT, Boon Rawd and Aab, received vaccinations.

Care for Dogs will pick them up in a couple weeks to begin their treatment for TVT.

Care for Dogs is extremely pleased and proud of what the caring kids at NIS are doing to help dogs and contribute to the betterment of their community. Kudos and doggy licks to you!!
