Adoption is free but Nina was STOLEN

scan0003Nina is a cute little girl who came to Care for Dogs as a dumped dog quite a while ago and immediately became the sweetheart of one of the guys working at the shelter.

Khun Nod adopted her and she travelled everywhere with him, on the bike, in the car and lived as a companion to him.

He would bring her to work with him & during his stay at the shelter, Nina would play with other smaller dogs in the shelter and socialising with everyone, large & small.

Last week, Khun Nod & his colleague left the shelter for a short time, leaving Nina & her playmate Kunking in an enclosure we refer to as the Visitor Area.

On their return, Nina was gone. Kunking was there alone and we believe it was possibly because Kunking is not so easy to catch that only 1 dog was stolen.

Adoption of dogs from Care for Dogs is free. We ask for no money in exchange for finding dogs new homes and the process of adoption is not very hard at all. Yes we ask questions, yes we ask for commitment and yes we ask to see the dog in the home environment at some later stage.

But Nina was not available for adoption, she already had a home and a very caring & loving companion. The relationship was mutual, so no there are 2 very unhappy souls out there.
