A Very Happy Ending!
JoJo was found at Wat Don Chan by a very kind and caring man named Joe who noticed that she was injured, possibly hit by a car. He took her to a nearby vet who diagnosed a broken front leg and put her in a cast.
After a few days Joe realised that Jo Jo was lonely on her own while he was out so he brought her to the shelter where she had other pups to play with.
Jojo enjoyed the socialisation with other pups and small dogs at the shelter and in just 3 weeks, the cast was removed and her young growing bones had healed well by themselves. Her visit to the vet can be found here…
Joe very kindly paid for all of her medical costs as well as making a generous donation for her after care at the shelter. Joe helps out at the Orphanage at Wat Don Chan, giving time and support to the many children there. Please check it out,Toys For Thailand, they are doing some great work with the kids and they would be happy to welcome new volunteers too. Maybe you would like to email Joe direct.
I was about to write an adoption notice for Jo Jo when, during a cold spell, she developed a touch of Kennel Cough, so I bought her home for fostering and a little bit of extra care.
She soon recovered and I was about to write the adoption notice again, when it was decided that we should have her sterilised first so she would be completely ready for a new home.
The day after her stitches were removed, as I was writing her little story for the website, a lovely Swiss couple came to the shelter looking for a dog to adopt, and Jo Jo fell for them straight away! Even though Andy and Veronika took a good look around at all the wonderful dogs who they might take home, Jo Jo was there every time they turned round, gently making her presence felt. And they just couldn’t resist her!
Andy (photographed with Jojo here ) and Veronika had previously visited Happy Gambol Dog Training and Boarding Facility near Mae Rim, www.thehappygamboldogs.com where the proprietors Patrick and Nok had suggested that when visiting the Care for Dogs shelter, they should take time to watch out for the dog that adopted them, a dog that was just naturally drawn to them.. and Jo Jo certainly was.
So I never did get to write and ask if there was anyone out there who would like to adopt this pretty little pup! But if it’s a pretty little pup you are looking for, or an equally pretty older dog, then we have a great variety of young & old, happy & healthy dogs for you to choose from.
Just give us a call 0847 52 52 55 to arrange an appointment and come over and see who adopts you!

Gill " I feel really fortunate that I am able to spend my days doing something so fulfilling and worthwhile. I enjoy spending my time just loving and cuddling our dogs and taking time to restore their confidence in humans. Some have been through untold traumas or are family pets that have just been abandoned on the streets or in Temples so its wonderful to see them settle into the dog family groups here and get a feeling of security again.
